 Hinweis:Das HIGHTEC RACING MOTOR OIL SAE 10W-60 wurde speziell für den Einsatz unter extremen Rennbedingungen entwickelt. Dabei wurde besonders auf maximalen Verschleißschutz und Zuverlässigkeit geachtet. Die allgemeine Alltagstauglichkeit jedoch wurde hierbei zurückgestellt. Wir empfehlen daher die Verwendung nur im Wettbewerbsumfeld, nicht jedoch den Einsatz im Alltagsbetrieb.

What Is Zddp?

Background for those unfamiliar with ZDDP: it is an anti-wear additive that was widely used in motor oil until recently. It reduces wear during times of interrupted lubrication or times of inadequate film strength, like when maximum power is demanded from an engine. Some engines with design problems like soft cams and engines with old style tappets really need ZDDP. ZDDP is being phased out.

 SM oil is no more than 600 ppm ZDDP. The whole story is told in the API rating. The current standard, API SN, came out very recently and much of the oil on shelves is SM. SM has stringent limits on phosphorus (notably ZDDP) which is so destructive of catalytic converters and is hard on O2 sensors as well. 1995 would have been in the era of API SL, I think, and that is the proper oil rating for it. If you can't find any other synthetic rated for SL, Amsoil has some that are not SM rated because of excessive ZDDP.
