VLN: Rowe Racing mastered endurance test with AMG engine

During the previous four years, Rowe Racing underwent the AMG engine of his Mercedes-Benz Gullwing a stress test: Without revision of the Silver Arrow reached at his VLN inserts on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife, a distance of about five thousand kilometers.
Rowe Racing and Mercedes-Benz have performed an endurance test during the past four years. The Wormser team examined the engine of the SLS AMG GT3 Gullwing during operations on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife on its stability. The result: The Silver Arrow in the colors of the oil company reached without revision, a distance of about five thousand kilometers.
Intention it was to use the findings of this stress test on the asphalt strip at the foot of Nürburg in the development of production vehicles. "The goal of this extraordinary tests was to investigate the longevity of the Mercedes-AMG engines in combination with the use of our Rowe-tech lubricants," says Managing Director Michael Rowe toe the intentions of his team.
The endurance test consisted of eight finally VLN races, three 24-hour race and two stakes at the ADAC GT Masters. All in all, showed the speedometer of the Mercedes-Benz sports car finally at exactly 50 150 km. "We will now examine in detail the motor and expect us valuable insights for technology transfer from the racetrack to the street," explains toe.
And how struck the Mercedes-Benz sports cars this year compared to the competition on the historic circuit in the Eifel volcano? After a disastrous start of the season Rowe Racing celebrated last two overall victories in the endurance championship. First Rowe Racing finished at the second meeting of the year to eleventh place and met with its rehearsal for the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring before the top ten. When Eifel-Marathon itself the Rowe troupe was third again. In the six-hour ADAC Ruhr-Pokal finally succeeded the repeated title defense. On top of that triumphed Rowe Racing unchallenged at the DMV-250-mile race, ending this year's season.
Previously Rowe Racing was one of those teams that the brand of eight minutes overcame in qualifying. Christian chief nobility achieved a lap time of 7: 59.797 minutes. "If an unopened motor with such high mileage is still good for such results at the highest athletic level, which speaks for the quality of the motor and used Rowe products," adds Obernaundorf concluded.
In previous years, Rowe Racing always maintained the front of the classifications. Since its debut season in 2011, the Mercedes-Benz team became one VLN top team. Already in the 34th edition of the RCM DMV Genzlandrennen Rowe Racing celebrated the first triumph. There were other podium finishes and race wins and finished third and fourth at last year's 24-hour race.
